A state run by Greedy Politicians, Spineless Technocrats and waste bunch of Bureaucrats.

A state run by Greedy Politicians, Spineless Technocrats and waste bunch of Bureaucrats.

I guess all the sirs have raised their eye brow looking at the heading. Let me justify-
This few years, days and months we have been seeing all kinds of Drama (it’s better to call this way) regarding the Hydro Electric Projects (HEPS) in the state of Arunachal Pradesh sounding from kWatts to Megawatt. The dailies are flooded with news of forces being deployed for public hearing more than it need in the Burning capital  to keep safe its dwellers.

More than the Chinese claims   People of Arunachal Pradesh are now more afraid of the Power Developers. Citizens are at most told about the benefits of the Hydro electric Powers But Why do this Sirs’  I mean  Government, Technocrats or any bureaucrat not tell us the mount of environmental destruction it is going to cause us apart from massive influx of workers from outside, dislocation of indigenous communities.

We already have an unwelcomed guest the Chakma and Hajongs and to remind you sirs These communities were displaced because of coming up of Kaptai hydropower project, which subsequently led to internal conflict including communal riots forcing them to flee from Chittagong Hill Tracts.

I wonder how many of the people from the 2000 MW Subansiri Lower Project have really benefitted except some few Apart from few contractors who have made huge sums of money, most people are living in abject poverty.

Governments have come and gone and very chief Minister have supported this projects And what do you the think? Are the anti-dam Crusaders against developments? I would say NO. Till now there are no crusaders against a Minor Power projects. Thus this is a clear indication that people do agree to the fact that the state need power to sustain itself.

Arunachal has been projected as answer to India’s Power need being capable of generating some 50000+ MW of Power.

Before seeing their projections, see us! The indigenous people of this land.
